Microsoft released the fifth Moment Update for Windows 11 in February 2024. This version did not reach many user systems as the company artificially limited it.
Although Microsoft stated that the information would be available to "seekers", many were looking for updates manually, enabling the download of the latest updates as soon as they are available, and never found it.
But now Microsoft has released KB5035942 as an optional update for Windows 11 version 23H2. The update looks identical to the February 2024 release.
With the Moment Update EU and EEA users can finally uninstall Microsoft Edge and Bing Web Search.
AI comes with a Copilot icon on the right side of the taskbar and the easy-to-use Snap Assist feature uses artificial intelligence.
The Widgets Board includes a choice to get rid of the news feed completely and some apps have new features. Notepad, for example, has a new “explain with Copilot” option.
Although KB5035942 is already available as an optional update for Windows 11, it is still not showing up for all users.
Note: KB5035942 is a preview update. If you don't want to try the new features, you can wait until Patch Tuesday April 2024. Moment Update 5 will be included in the cumulative update that Microsoft will release on April 9, 2024.
