The US government arrested the owner of KickassTorrents, the largest website torrent sites in the world. The 30-year-old Ukrainian man was arrested in Poland today and charged with copyright violations and money laundering. In addition, a federal court in Chicago ordered the seizure of the many domains used by the CTA.
So today the website does not seem to work.
30 from Ukraine, after his arrest in Poland, is expected to be issued in the United States that has requested his extradition.
In the lawsuit filed at the US District Court in Chicago, the owner is charged for a conspiracy to commit a copyright infringement law, a money laundering conspiracy, and two additional charges for violating another paragraph of the Copyright Act.
The complaint also reveals that the federations approached the site as advertisers, and revealed a bank account linked to the site.
It also shows that Apple handed Vaulin's personal data cross-referenced to an IP address it used for a transaction via iTunes with the IP address it used to link to a KAT account and Facebook.
In addition to the arrest in Poland, the court also ordered the seizure of a bank account associated with KickassTorrents, as well as several of domain site names.
