A few days ago we reported the arrest of the alleged owner KickassTorrents and its closure by clicking heres. But apparently the file sharing website started working again under a new domain (as usual).
But is it the authentic website?
For the story: The US government arrested the owner of KickassTorrents, the largest torrent site in the world. The 30 Ukrainianman was arrested in Poland today and is accused of violating the copyright law and money laundering. In addition, a federal court in Chicago ordered the seizure of the many domains used by the KAT.
But let's see what happened:
According to The Verge website the new website operates under KAT.am. As The Verge reports, the new site is "hosted on multiple cloud servers and uses online security provider CloudFlare."
At the moment the page has no torrents.
TorrentFreak on the other says that KickassTorrents are still down but that the community of the famous website remains very active.
Evidence; The members of the management team set up a new site that is currently hosting the KickassTorrents forum in the domain Katcr.co,
As you noticed, perhaps one story overrides the other. The phenomenon is known, and it is commonplace if a big torrent site falls, or a large site in general.
The next moment hundreds of clones appear trying to take advantage of it traffic of the closed page.
So if you are reading on the Internet about the re-emergence of such a site, it is a good idea to try to cross the information.
The strange thing about the story above is that The Verge, although a reliable website, claims to support them information of to an anonymous source, while TorrentFreak which is at the center of news from torrent sites does not mention anything about KAT.am.
TorrentFreak reports that none of the mods had access to the files with the source code of the page. So if the story of The Verge is true, some admin should pick up the KAT.am. But he did not invite the other members of the team who are still in the team Katcr.co;
