False page with Snapchats on Facebook misleads users to fish for codes

Cybercriminals also take advantage of the fact that many users search for websites that leak Snapchats, to trick users into giving them information or visiting specific websites.

Πρόσφατα ήρθε σε μια σελίδα στο which are advertised as lewd photos leaked by Snapchat users .

However, users who wanted to see the photos were instructed to visit a , δεδομένου ότι δεν θα μπορούσαν να αναρτηθούν στο Facebook.

Facebook's fake page got more than 100.000 likes, while the phishing homepage deceived hundreds of users who delivered their name and password. In addition, the same website was also designed to fool users and engage in surveys.

The trick is that while in desktop versions web browsers often warn users that they are about to visit a potentially dangerous website, mobile browsers do not offer the same level of protection.

This is why scams targeting mobile users are much more effective.

The Facebook page analyzed by Hunt has been removed. However, another could take its place at any time. This is why it is important for users to be cautious.
