We quote the company statement:
“We are actively coordinating with G DATA – an online company researchς security– to learn all the details about her malware research. Through this process, we came to know that G DATA analyzed a particular cell phone, which had been purchased from a third party.
Η analysis of G DATA was clear: the malware, which was detected on a single Lenovo device, likely got there after an app was installed by an intermediary accessing the device outside of Lenovo's distribution channel.
The malicious software, which was detected by G DATA, not was pre-installed in the Lenovo device firmware, as was the case with other industries listed in the G DATA report.
"Lenovo advises customers to trade through authorized distribution channels and to accept goods that are in their original packaging with the original factory seal and when making a purchase to make sure that the device meets the manufacturer's safety standards."
