The Lexilight promises to make reading much easier for people with dyslexia, as it uses an innovative system based on pulsating light to address the misleading images of dyslexia.
The Lexilight reading lamp is expected to be released in Europe in 2020, starting in Paris, Rennes and London. The manufacturer Lexilife plans to bring the device to the United States.
Lexilight combines pulsed and modulated light to counteract the mirror effect commonly experienced by people with dyslexia. According to research, while most people have only one "dominant eye", those with dyslexia have two dominant eyes, which means that the brain has to process two pieces of information, often creating images that make reading much more difficult.
The innovative Lexilight lighting system removes this mirror effect, making the brain believe that it receives information from a single dominant eye, facilitating information processing and creating a reading comfort.
"According to the tests carried out by our team, the Lexilight lamp works in almost 90% of dyslexics. It also helps children and adults with reading disabilities. " explains Lexilife.
The Lexilight luminaire must be connected to a source energy. The company will also launch a rechargeable model. The first model will cost around 549 British pounds.
