LibreItalia reports today that the Ministry της Ιταλίας θα αλλάξει λογισμικό of text on his computers, adopting LibreOffice an open source software .

The move comes in a form of co-operation between the Italian Ministry of Defense and LibreItalia.

Sonia Montegiove, President of LibreItalia, and Ruggiero Di Biase, Rear Admiral and Chief Executive Officer of the Department of Automated Information Systems of the Ministry of Defense in Italy, signed an agreement on a partnership to adopt the LibreOffice office suite at all of the Ministry's offices.LibreOffice

LibreItalia, a nonprofit organization, promised to help the Department of Defense with trainers to train all employees in the LibreOffice software application from October of 2015, with online training courses. The entire transition process is expected to be completed by the end of 2016.

“As part of the agreement, the Italian Ministry of Defense will develop educational content with a series of online training courses for LibreOffice, which is released to the community under the Creative Commons license.

The initiative of the Ministry of Defense with the choice of the LibreOffice office suite is a very good example of how Greece could move, although it is bankrupt, still spending a lot of money on similar applications.
