Dr.Web LiveDisk is a free tool that allows system administrators as well as laymen users, to restore Windows systems that won't start.
The program is specifically designed for malfunctions that cause various malware attacks that stop the correct boot up of devices Windows.
The system repair software comes in an ISO image you can play on CD, DVD and in .exe format to create some bootable USB Flash.
To transfer it to your USB you should run the .exe (the download links are at the end of the post). Then a dialog box appears asking you to select one of the connected removable drives disk to create your system repair environment.
Existing files will not be deleted during the process unless you check the "format USB drive" before creating Dr.Web LiveDisk.
Note that the drive must be formatted on a Fat32 file system.
The only information that can be replaced is the startup information. If you are already using the selected USB Flash drive as a boot disk, this information will be replaced when creating the new system restore environment.
Once you create a CD, DVD, or USB, you can start the computer that is having trouble using it.
After the boot, three options appear:
You can run Dr.Web LiveDisk, perform a memory test, or boot your system from your hard drive. The start screen also shows an option to change the language.
The memory test option runs Memtest86 + on your system, while the LiveDisk Recovery Environment displays several icons that you can use to recover the system that has a problem.
Includes three Dr.Web programs (Registry Editor, Antivirus, και Dr.Web Updater) και τέσσερα προγράμματα τρίτων (Midnight Commander, Mozilla Firefox, Mate Terminal, and File Manager) which you can run directly.
The next step depends on what you want to do. If you suspect that an attack of malicious software has ruined your computer, you may want to run antivirus for a good scan on your system.
Registry Editor is very useful if malware has changed important registry keys as you can fix them.
The other ancillary applications included are also useful. With Firefox, you can search for solutions to your online problem while File Manager will help you find files on the system.
