How are the Social Media, Valentine's Day and Mac users? On the occasion of Saint Valentine's Day, Kaspersky Lab identified the peculiarities of romantic behavior in social networks. As it turns out, users who mostly use Mac desktop with for them to have access online stand out for their most exuberant expressions of love on social networks.
Relationships start with an acquaintance. Here, according to research, Mac owners are the undisputed leaders among users of various devices: 14% of them admit to using social networks to make a relationship, while 11% use these websites to seek sexual partners. 
These percentages are twice as large as the average of all respondents (8% and 5% respectively). So it's not surprising that Mac users are more likely to reveal their social status (83% versus 63%) and their sexual orientation (70% versus 44%) to their social media to achieve their goals. ).
Also, Mac users are more likely to talk about their romantic activities on social networks, with one third (31%) saying they would do it with ease. The average for this parameter was just over 16%.
But how do social networks affect the personal lives of those who already have a partner? Almost half of the respondents (46%) said that their relationships had improved thanks to social networks. Mac users are the happiest in this regard - among them this percentage reaches 68%. This may be due to the fact that Mac users prefer to communicate with their partner through social networks: 45% of them choose this way of communicating with their loved ones, while the average for all respondents was only 36%.

They allow us to communicate more with people who cannot be next to us physically, but we must not forget the dangers of this kind of communication: relationships can be negatively affected or even destroyed by social networks, so we will we have to be very careful about what we share with our friends and how it might affect them,” commented Andy Mochola, Head of Consumer Business, Kaspersky Lab.
