The malwarebytes maker of the popular Malwarebytes Anti-Malware, Anti-Exploit, Anti-Ransomware and other security tools announced that it acquired AdwCleaner, a Windows application designed to clean adware systems.
By adware we define any unwanted software, ρύθμιση ή archive which is not considered malicious.
So all these potentially unwanted preletterτα (PUP) που συνήθως βρίσκονται κατά την εγκατάσταση άλλη “δωρεάν” λογισμικού διαθέτουν adware, που για παράδειγμα, πραγματοποιεί αλλαγές στην αρχική σελίδα του browser σας προσθέτοντας άλλη μηχανή αναζήτησης ή επιπρόσθετες υπηρεσίες στα Windows, διαφημίσεις popups, ή τα cookies που παρακολουθούν τους users.
Malwarebytes plans to improve company applications by adding crawling to potentially unwanted programs. So he felt that the acquisition of an extra tool would greatly help her goal.
Here we should mention that AdwCleaner will remain available as a free stand-alone program. This means that users who are already using the app will be able to continue using it as they were.
Malwarebytes plans to integrate AdwCleaner technology into its Anti-Malware products.
According to the company, AdwCleaner downloads more than 200.000 times every day, and has been installed a total of "about" 200 million times.
