A 38 year was sentenced to two years in prison with suspension and with a large fine for involvement in an attack distributed denial-of-service conducted by Anonymous against its website Koch Industries the 2011.
It is remarkable that he took part in the attack only for one minute.
Ο Eric J. Rosol, a resident of Wisconsin, was convicted of taking part in their attack Anonymous v. Kochind.com, on 28 Febweights of 2011, using a popular tool DDoS, which was found on his computer.
Rosol, however, admitted that he took part in the attack for just one minute. He blamed his guilty party in a misdemeanor and was sentenced to two years in prison with a suspended and fine 183.000 dollar, as reported by the Ministry of Justice at IT World.
Activists argue that such penalties for this kind of hacking are disproportionate to the offense and call for a change of law Desktop Fraud and Abuse Act, voted in 1980 and still usesfor the prosecution of cybercrimes, to this day.
