MasterCard wants to convert any device to a payment card

The number of devices connected to the internet is increasing every day. And we're not just talking about the usual suspects, like computers, , tablets κλπ αλλά για όλα τα είδη που κυκλοφορούν στην αγορά, όπως ρούχα, κοσμήματα, ρολόγια, αυτοκίνητα και πολλά άλλα. Η MasterCard βλέποντας την μελλοντική εξέλιξη αυτής της μόδας έχει ξεκινήσει ένα νέο πρόγραμμα που έχει στόχο να μετατρέψει οποιοδήποτε τέτοιο αντικείμενο, είτε πρόκειται για ένα smartphone ή ένα έξυπνο , in one which can be used to pay for your purchases wirelessly, just like a credit card.

Η MasterCard για το σκοπό αυτό, τρέχει ένα πρόγραμμα με την ονομασία "Trade for each device" και έχει συνεργαστεί με αρκετούς βιομηχανικούς παράγοντες. Για παράδειγμα, έχει στρατολογήσει τη βοήθεια του σχεδιαστή Adam Selman to create dresses and accessories that will be available for payment. We are talking about smart rings, smart bracelets, clothes and even car keys.

On the IT side, MasterCard has also partnered with NXP and Qualcomm to complete this payment system. One of the participants in the MasterCard program is Capital One, which provides transaction authentication.

MasterCard plans to launch the first device up to 2016. And as expected, it will start from the US and later expand to other markets.
