H McAfee, which is now part of Intel Security, presented its strategy to address the challenges posed to the security of the Internet of Things.
The logic is that more and more devices are connected to the Internet. Experts estimate that 2020 will have 212 billion devices to connect to the internet, such as cars, industrial sensors and home appliances. While smart devices have many advantages, they create many challenges in the field of data protection, trust, security and governance.
The IT security solutions provider underlines the fact that developers of Internet-enabled devices need to focus on making their products safe from scratch.
"Security must be built into the foundation of the Internet of Things," said Michael Fey, chief security officer at Intel Security.
“Any disruption to these connected devices can cause damage στην επιχείρηση και την καθημερινή μας ζωή. Πρέπει να έχουμε την διορατικότητα σε αυτό που έρχεται ούτως ώστε να μπορέσουμε να αποτρέψουμε τις απειλές για την ασφάλεια και τη διαχείριση αυτών των συσκευών. Η McAfee θα επιτρέψει το μέλλον και τις possibilities that will bring the Internet of Things into our daily lives.”
McAfee's IoT security strategy includes solutions that work in multiple environments and devices. Life-cycle security at the center of devices, network and data, mechanisms that guarantee customers that their devices will not be destroyed and support for industry standards and device interoperability.
The company's strategy also includes technology για την εξασφάλιση της ιδιωτικής ζωής, και την ικανότητα να αντιμετωπίσει τις προκλήσεις, συνδέοντας την κληρονομιά με τα νέα συστήματα και τις μελλοντικές services.
Η McAfee is working with Intel and Wind River in developing solutions to protect connected devices, systems, applications and data. Intel recently announced it Gateway Solutions for the IoT as a result of her collaboration with McAfee and Wind River.
