A meeting on medical applications for mobile devices had its representatives on December 13 Apple Lossless Audio CODEC (ALAC), with people from the American Food and Drug Administration (FDA). The meeting was recorded in the FDA's public archives, stating the date, subject of the discussion, as well as the names of the representatives of the two sides that took part.
The news came to light last Friday, confirming reports that have appeared since the end of last year and which claim that the American company develops hardware and software for recording various biological parameters.
On the occasion of the meeting, the New York Times returned to the subject, saying that hardware will be embedded in the long-awaited iWatch, a "smart" clock with biosensors that will wirelessly transmit their measurements to iPhone of the user. In fact, in an article in its Sunday edition, the newspaper reports that Apple is considering various technologies for the battery to replenish its electrical energy – such as magnetic induction or the integration of small solar cells.
The 9to5Mac technology gives even more details, stating that saving and analyzing biological measures will be one of the main new features of the next version of Apple's operating system for iPhone and iPad. Thus, in the new version, the operating system will include «Healthbook», an application that will gather data such as heart rate or pressure.
About a month ago, an FDA meeting with senior Google executives regarding a medical innovation developed by the Internet giant was leaked. As revealed after a few days, the innovation concerns the first "smart" lenses contact, which will be able to measure the level of sugar in the tears of diabetics.
