A new utility called “Revert8Plus” will let you go back to an older version of Windows with the classic and retro feel you knew intact. The developer of the utility from the Tech Stuff published the app on GitLab about a week ago and also created a video that walks users through the process.
However we should mention that Revert8Plus requires disabling Defender Tamper Protection in Windows Security in Windows 11. However, the tool will automatically disable it if the user is on Windows 10 or Windows 8.1.
In addition, Secure Boot should be disabled as well. The developer of the application he says that this is necessary to make changes to the Windows 7 startup logo.
Hello! I'm the programmer. It is open source, as the code is publicly available at archive.org. Disabling secure boot and efi changes are required to change boot logo on Windows 7 start screen via HackBGRT (LogoFAIL is not vulnerable). Defender must be disabled so it doesn't delete stuff, and after running the command, Defender is enabled again. The disablement is only a temporary measure and version 2 will not have it. Administrator/Trusted Installer rights are required to replace many files in the Windows folder, such as icons, built-in apps, sounds, disk applets, themes, menus, cursors, and more.
All will be improved in version 2 and will be available as options to choose what you want it to do and what to skip.
To get started, you should run the following command inside the Run dialog box (Win + R):
powershell irm revert8plus.gitlab.io | iex

In case you want to try it, we recommend that you try it in a virtual machine (VM) to be a little safer.
How do we undo the whole process if we want to return to the previous state?
get a good backup, if you are a beginner we don't recommend it
