Η Microsoft has started distributing this month's updates worldwide, sending a total of 12 security fixes, five of which have been rated as critical.
This month, Redmond distributes security updates for some of its most popular software, such as Windows, Edge (available only in Windows 10), Office, and Exchange Server. So both consumers and IT administrators seem to have a lot of work to do.
In the list of updates, there are also five critical ones, as follows:
Security update | Affected software |
MS15-094 | Microsoft Windows and its Internet Explore |
MS15-095 | Microsoft Windows and Microsoft Edge |
MS15-096 | Microsoft Windows |
MS15-097 | Microsoft Windows, Microsoft Office, Microsoft Lync |
MS15-098 | Microsoft Windows |
According to Wolfgang Kandek, Qualys CTO, the top of the facility for all users should be the MS15-097 update, which has been rated as critical for Windows Vista and Server 2008, Microsoft Office 2007, and 2010.
Mr Kandek says one of the defects corrected by this update is already exploited, so this is extremely important and should be set up as soon as possible.
Needless to say, MS15-094 is also critical for the majority of users because it fixes errorsecurity in Windows and Internet Explorer. The latter may no longer be the default browser in Windows 10, but it is for all users of previous versions of Windows.
As happens every first Tuesday of each month, all these updates are delivered via Windows Update.
