Microsoft announced the presentation of its new version DirectX, on March 20, during the Game Developers Conference, which will be held in San Francisco, United States.
The announcement was made via a Microsoft teaser site combined with a tweet from an account called DirectX 12. The website where the announcement was published also featured the logos of companies such as AMD, Intel, Nvidia and Qualcomm, i.e. processor manufacturing companies. and chipsets graphics, which support the DirectX standard.
DirectX 12 is the latest procase σε μια μακρά σειρά από API (Application Programming Interface) τα οποία έχουν σχεδιαστεί ώστε να επιτρέπουν στις πλατφόρμες της Microsoft να διαχειρίζονται video games και archives multimedia.
More details about DirectX 12 will be revealed during the Game Developers Conference, but what is known is that developers have reportedly asked Microsoft for better tools to achieve better performance on all kinds of platforms: PC, tablet, smartphone and console. Apparently Microsoft is "responding" to the demand by offering DirectX 12. The last version of DirectX was released together with Windows 7, in October 2009. In general, Microsoft has established a tradition of introducing newer versions of DirectX together with new operating systems. If tradition is anything to go by, we might see DirectX 12 in conjunction with Windows 9, which is expected to arrive sometime in 2015.
