Microsoft today announced that it is preparing to release a version of its own, Microsoft Edge browser for Apple iOS and Google's Android operating system.
The version for Apple's iOS operating system seems to be available already, but the version for Android is still under development. Both versions are currently only available for Windows Insiders who are testing the upcoming Windows 10 Fall Creators update on their PC. However, all the users they can see her promo page of Microsoft Edge for Appliances iOS and Android.
This isn't the first time Microsoft has brought a web browser to a non-Windows operating system. The company released the Internet Explorer για Mac πριν από πολλά χρόνια, αλλά μετά από λίγο σταμάτησε να το κάνει...
What's the reason?
Microsoft Edge is availables only for the Windows 10 and the version for Android and iOS means that the new versions of Edge will also be released on operating systems that are not owned by Microsoft, but not in earlier (earlier) versions of Windows.
Is it a measure taken by the company to get more people to adopt Windows 10? No one can say for sure but I personally can't think of any other reason...
Let's say both new browsers (for iOS and Android) are made from scratch and use a different engine than Microsoft Edge in Windows 10.
So we can ask ourselves: How much Edge is the new browser for mobile devices?
Let's hope it comes to Linux too, let's see who will use it...
