Microsoft: From 1 July its products will stop every adware

Microsoft today announced a in how he will manage them adware, a form of malware that promotes unwanted advertisements to the user. From 1 July, the company's security products will immediately stop each adware which will detect and inform the user, who can then resume the program if he really needs it.

adware
Currently, when one of Microsoft's security products (including Microsoft Security Essentials and Microsoft Forefront) detects an adware-like program, it notifies the user and offers a recommended action. If o δεν κάνει τίποτα, το προϊόν της s will let the program continue to run.

The reason Microsoft has chosen a first July 2014 as release of the new feature is because it wants to give developers three months to comply with the new rules. The company states:

"We classify a program as adware, if it runs on the user's machine and generates notifications to promote products or services. If the program displays ads within it, there will be no problem.

Many programs use advertising as a means of revenue for their developers which is an acceptable practice. We are more concerned with advertising that comes in contact with our customer experience in Windows without being his choice and control. "

More specifically, ads opened by these programs should include obvious ways to close the ad, as well as the name of the program that created the ad. At the same time, the program that generates these ads should provide a standard uninstallation method and not to the same name as another that contained it in the installation.

It seems to be a very good move on the part of Microsoft, and the point is that they did not do so earlier.
