Η Microsoft μόλις κυκλοφόρησε ένα νέο πρόγραμμα περιήγησης που δεν είναι ο γνωστός Internet Explorer ή ο νέος Microsoft Edge. There is a Windows Store under the name JavaScript Browser.
Ο νέος browser είναι συμβατός μόνο με τα Windows 10 κάτι το οποίο σημαίνει ότι οι χρήστες των Windows 8.x δεν θα τον βρουν αν τον αναζητήσουν στο Windows Store.
The browser has been released as PoC to demonstrate the capabilities of the Windows 10 platform.
It works like any other Windows 10 application: you can open it from the start menu, for example, and when you do, the following screen will appear by default.
Keep in mind that the app is nothing more than a technical demonstration of a browser.
Its UI (interface) resembles any modern browser, but you will immediately notice is it does not support tabs. This means that you can only display a single page or service on every page opening.
You will also notice that some functions are absent. For example, while the settings are available, they are limited to the full screen and clearing of the cache and favorites.
Features such as extensions, web rights, developer tools, or search page do not exist.
The browser uses EdgeHTML, the Microsoft Edge rendering engine, along with the WebView control used by Windows 10 applications.
Microsoft has published its code Project in Github as an open source project and so all interested users can access the code of the new application.
Please note that the JavaScript Browser does not support plugins which means you will not be able to load Flash or Java applications or games into websites.
The app as you understand is not designed to replace the web browsers you use. but it's a great opportunity for developers who want to take on a Microsoft open source project.
