Η Microsoft παρουσίασε τα Live Tiles ή ζωντανά πλακίδια για το Windows Phone. We first saw the feature with the release of the Windows 8 operating system.
Live Tiles have not changed much since then. With the release of Windows 10, a couple of new options have been added that define new sizes in tiles.
What do Live Tiles do? Besides they act as a shortcut to open a program or a application, tiles can also show you information right before you open the app.
The most common example is the tile of weather or news.
Do you really think the new feature Microsoft thought of adding to its mobile devices?
Personally, Live Tiles on my computer look a little useless. Perhaps their appearance on tablets or mobile phones, being more usable but on computers, is almost useless in their present form.
First, in Windows 10, they only appear in the start menu. But when you open the start menu, you already have a specific tool in mind and you do not pay attention to the tiles and their details.
Unless you open the start menu and wonder how many nice tiles Microsoft… has created…
If you're not one of them, you'll type in a program name or term search instantly, and Live Tiles won't distract you from whatever is on it at the time.
Do you insist that "living tiles" are needed?
The place where the company has placed live tiles is not ideal. They first appeared on the Windows 8 start screen. Truth Who Sits To Look At The Start Screen To Get Information? Besides, the information provided by Live Tiles is not something that is useful.
They are there to distract, but even so, they have placed them in the wrong place.
Microsoft recently announced that there are some surprises in Live Tiles and Windows 10 notifications. The surprises will probably be seen at the Build 2016 Developer Conference that will be held in San Francisco from 30 March to April 1.
To see what will change…
Live tiles could become more appealing to users if Microsoft unpacks them from the startup menu and allows users to place them on their desktop.
