Office 16, which is said to be the name of the next version of Office on Windows, could arrive by the end of the year, ZDNet's Mary Jo Foley reports, citing people familiar with the theme and a series of Microsoft advisories issued over the past few days.
“We will continue the releases with installations for SharePoint Server and the Exchange Server at the traditional rate of releases every 2-3 years" said Office Corporate Vice President Jeffrey Teper, pointing out that the new edition of Office could arrive as soon as 2-3 years.
Of course, Microsoft refused to comment on this publication, but if the rumors were true, we could expect a public beta to be released in the coming months.
