Microsoft today announced "Skype for Business", which is designed to replace Lync's older business communication tool.
The new application was released today as part of the April Office Update for Office 2013. Skype for Business Online has also been released for Office 365 customers who have been using Lync Online to date.
Microsoft had announced just a few weeks ago the technical preview version of this software. So the quick time is probably a surprise deliveryof the final version of the application.
However, the transition from Lync Online to Skype for Business Online will be completed for all customers by the end of May, such as he says Microsoft on her blog.
With Skype for Business, enterprise customers will have access to software that looks a lot like the Skype we all know, but comes with increased security and characteristics that enable IT to better organization, better management and control of software usage within an organization or company.
The talks on Skype for Business validated through Active Directory and it is encrypted. IT of course can manage company user accounts. The system works neatly with PBX systems or videoconferencing systems, if needed.
In addition, Skype for corporate customers enables chat, audio and video chatting in their own business as well as any of the over 300 million customers who have a Skype ID and use Android-powered applications , iOS, Mac, Windows and the Internet, even if they do not use Skype for Business.
The software is also built into Office, with IM, voice and video calls, and online meetings as reported by Microsoft.
