Hidden Telemetry Code from Microsoft and Visual Studio 2015

Big tech companies like Microsoft are known to use data s. The most recent example is the company's operating system Windows 10. However, it seems that it is not the only one. This time the company updated the Studio 2015, με την προσθήκη τηλεμετρίας στα C++ binaries που γίνονται compiled από κάθε developer. Το καλυτερο όμως είναι ότι η εταιρεία πρόσθεσε την τηλεμετρία κρυφά στον of Visual Studio 2015.Microsoft Visual Studio 2015

The issue arose in May at Reddit, when a user noticed that a function called "telemetry_main_invoke_trigger" existed within each compiled binary in his projects.

The user looked into it further and discovered that this happens at the Debug level and of binary builds, in Windows 7 and Windows 10.

This, of course, most concerned about Reddit users was that there was no documentation or even little reference about these calls, either online or in the Microsoft software embedded software package.

Let's mention that telemetry data is a very sensitive issue for users of Microsoft products, (and not only). It is a method the company uses to know what the user of his products does at all times.

Steve Carroll, one of the senior executives of the Visual Studio team, said:

"Our intention was benign (as always), our desire was to create a framework that would help investigate performance issues to improve quality. We apologize for raising the levels of suspicion that arose and even more so for not providing documentation. It was just an omission on our part. "

So, according to Steve Carroll, telemetry is not a term that necessarily means "monitoring" but an alternative debugging system.
