A publication of Moscow Times discloses that lawyers from Bubnov and Partners based in the Russian capital have lodged a complaint with the Attorney General's Office alleging that the operating system (Windows 10) is used to gather information, thereby violating state laws.
Information such as passwords, location, typed messages, and browser history are collected, as advocates claim, and this violates the laws of Russia.
In addition, the same source states that Duma deputy Vadim Solovyov also complained to the Attorney General's Office exactly the same behavior a week ago, arguing that Microsoft is violating Russian law by gathering data with the new operating system that could be used to spy on users. According to the complaint, a fine should be imposed on the company and the operating one should be banned directly by the country.
Microsoft has yet to comment on these categories, but the company has already explained in the past that all of these characteristics data collection can be turned off if users want it.
