Mozilla: hotfix for older versions of Firefox

The Mozilla Foundation released a hotfix for its earlier versions Firefox 10 up to 28. Fixed versions that are installed in Windows should have automatic updates enabled to get this hotfix.

firefox hotfix

Most Firefox installations update automatically thanks to the built-in ενημέρωσης του web browser. Οι σταθερές και οι beta εκδόσεις του Firefοx ελέγχουν κάθε 12 ώρες για ενημερώσεις, ενώ οι εκδόσεις από το Nightly each hours.

Firefox users and system administrators may have blocked automatic updates intentionally in the browser. It's usually not recommended, but some program users do this to prevent some major changes that installation may make to their system or the add-ons they use.

There is another reason why Firefox can not be updated: the program hangs and does not download the updates. About 2% of all Firefox installations are stuck in old versions due to this behavior.

The Mozilla Foundation announced in May of 2014 that it intended to deliver a hotfix for stable versions of the browser that did not yet have the latest version to resolve this issue.

What you need to know about the update

The hotfix is for 10 and 28 fixed versions of Firefox. This means that pre-Firefox 10, Firefox ESR, Firefox Beta in Nightly, and post-Firefox 28 will not receive the update.
Updates will only be available on 32-bit versions of Windows XP SP2 and on newer systems.

The hotfix will download the complete Firefox installation package in the background and install it on the system to update the browser to the latest version.
