As promised, the foundation Mozilla released his first Nightly build Servo. Servo is the new web browser engine that tests the foundation, and this is the first tech demo.
Jack Moffitt, head of the Servo project, had mentioned in March that “a machine for program next-gen browsing should focus on performance and robustness.”
Both MacOS and Linux packages are already available and can be downloaded at the end of the release. The Mozilla Foundation promises that the next packages will be for Windows and the Android mobile.
Moffitt previously stated that the UI of the proletterbrowser will be "written entirely in HTML, CSS, and JavaScript" and that it will "include lots of rich animations."
Let's say the project is just a tech demo that aims to give developers the chance to play and experiment with the Servo.
It remains to be seen whether the project will go ahead.
