The Instagram he added one of the most anticipated features in its application: the ability to download Reels. The feature is currently rolling out in the US, where users can download Reels, according to Adam Mosseri, head of Instagram.
To download Instagram Reels to your device, select the reel you want to save, tap the Share button, then tap the Download button that's among the options at the bottom. You can save these Reels to your device's camera roll or gallery. Mosseri mentioned that you cannot download Reels shared from private Instagram accounts.
Public accounts can also disable the download option for their reels from the Account Settings in the app.
Instagram Reels is TikTok's rival and has been allowing users to download videos from its app for quite some time. These TikTok watermarked videos are primarily for offline viewing. However, there has been a sharp increase in the number of such videos with the TikTok watermark on Instagram.
After that, Instagram made some changes to its algorithm in an effort to promote original content on the platform. According to a screenshot shared by Mosseri, Instagram can also add a watermark to the video along with the nickname of the source account.
