The Kaspersky Internet Security was the only one among 15 security products that prevented any attempt of "infection" during the test 360 Assessment & Certification Program, which was held by MRG Effitas, an independent testing and research organization. So, its solution Kaspersky Lab was the only one to receive first-level certification. 
The test consisted of two stages. In the first, the behavior of security products was analyzed when we had to deal with urgent threats. In the second stage, the effectiveness of the "treatment" of an operating system after the "infection" was evaluated. The tests were conducted using samples from various "families" of malware, such as banking Trojans, ransomware, potentially unwanted programs, etc. Kaspersky Internet Security detected all 540 threats and prevented any malware from penetrating the system.
Η MRG Effitas utilizes a methodology that mimics the typical behavior of users. Researchers start by following a malicious one link on a computer that is protected by a security solution.
Then they download a "infected" executable file, store it on the hard drive, and finally try to run it. After that, it is time for the product to "cure" the system and cope with the consequences of "contamination".
Because home users do not usually leave their computers running all day, the system restarts after 12 hours.
To obtain first-level certification, products had to prevent all "contamination" efforts. Solutions that were able to detect any threat before the computer was restarted for the first time or during the restart were granted second level certification.
In the test, 10 from 15 solutions failed to protect the system from all the malware programs used by the researchers. Four solutions could not prevent the system from "infecting", but they managed to correct the situation. Only Kaspersky Internet Security has been able to prevent any attempt of "infection".
