The official accounton his Twitter Mustafa Varank, a top adviser to Turkish Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdoğan, was hijacked by activists.
The attack, by a group called DLMK Hack, coincided with the funeral of Berkin Elvan, the 15-year-old boy who died on March 11. Elvan was in a coma for 269 days when he suffered a head injury during the duration of the Gezi protests that took place last year in Istanbul.
Ο Varank he has currently regained control of his Twitter account.
Η Hurriyet Daily News reports that the hackers posted a message that read "We know who murdered Elvan." This message was posted with a photo of Prime Minister Erdoğan and with a caption that said: "I instructed the police."
Besides that and more messages blaming the Turkish prime minister for the teenager's death, hacktivists changed Varank's profile picture to one of Elvan.
