MX Linux 19 RC 1: From iGuRu.gr we highly recommend distributing MX Linux. It is a Debian-based distribution that came from a partnership between the antiX and MEPIS Linux communities that has stopped growing.
It uses Xfce as the default desktop, and is an operating system that combines a sleek and efficient desktop with simple settings, high stability, stable performance (from Debian), and minimal footprint.
In short it is a fairly light distribution that sacrifices nothing of quality.
All of the above, but also the special distribution tools make it very easy for Windows users who thinking about changing operating system.
So today, the project developers they announced the first Release Candidate of MX Linux 19. The RC version of the distribution is built on Debian 10 and features a custom desktop (Xfce 4.14).
The Communication states inter alia:
"MX Linux 19 Release Candidate 1 is available for testing. He is the first release candidate. The beta version includes the latest updates from debian 10.1 'Buster', the antiX distribution:
Xfce 4.14, GIMP 2.10.12, MESA 18.3.6, updated firmware, Debian 4.19 kernel, Firefox 69, VLC 3.0.8, Clementine 1.3.1, Thunderbird 60.8.0, LibreOffice 6.1.5 (plus security fixes), patched sudo info.
New and updated mx-apps: mx-installer (gazelle-installer-based) fixes on automount issues, MX Date and Time with easier clock settings, formatusb for formatting usb storage devices, mx-packageinstaller which now displays the version number in Flatpak applications, mx-alerts package to send emergency messages to users, mx-updater no longer needs a password to check for updates or to install updates), new wallpaper (mx19- artwork).
SysVinit remains the default init system of distribution.
