NASA has just released a new website that allows users to explore Mars in depth. The new website is very similar to Google Earth.
The NASA Mars Trek page allows users to explore 3D renderings of the planet, zooming in and out on different areas, just as you can with the Google Earth services UIs and Google Maps.
The data provided by NASA allow users to explore with 2D and 3D images.
Visit the website and see important sights of Mars. With one click they will appear in pop-ups with additional details, while the map scale can be set to miles or even kilometers.
In the maps you will be able to see all the NASA activity on the Red Planet as well as details about the missions of Spirit, Opportunity, Curiosity, Phoenix, and Sojourner.
Just like with Google Maps, you can use different pins, lines, frames, and shapes in the interactive model.
