18-year-old Valentinos Tzekas contacted us to let us know about a quite practical application. The application he developed is called Near – Check Who's Nearby and aims to bring them people of the digital age closer.
The 'Near – Check Who's Nearby' can bring people together easily and quickly so they don't waste time looking for Facebook check-ins or doing countless phones to see who is where! Near: “Less Planning… More Time Together!
With 'Near' you can see on the map who is near you at a certain distance! Not familiar with the areas? You can immediately and easily find your friends by getting directions through Google maps!
Also, you can see some basic information about the known & unknown people who are near you.. and if you are not covered... you can see their social profiles networks!
Valentinos Tzakas tells us how the app came out:
After the Panhellenic exams I wanted to spend my summer doing something really creative! Then I noticed that check-ins on Facebook, which are very fashionable especially in Greece, they had a major problem.. It was very generic!
"Andreas was with Dionysis at the 'tade' location"! But if you are new to the city you do not know the places .. so you have to look..MUCH!
Also, in the chaos of the news feed, it is now impossible to find your friends' check-ins, so you have to call them! 'Near – Check Who's Nearby' aims to bring people closer, simply and quickly! You are out in a square, in a park, at a conference... you open 'Near' and immediately see on the map which people are near you!
I always wanted to build my own Startup, and take it off ... world wide!

I think that the first step has already been taken with 'Near'! No one knows the future, but I will try to bring it as close as possible to my ambitions!!
