"Since the traveling public is unaware, all electronic devices will be checked by security officers. During the examination s, employees will also be able to ask owners to activate certain devices, such as phones. Devices that cannot be activated will not be allowed on the aircraft. The traveler in possession of such devices should be subject to further screening.”

BBC News reports that increased security measures are in response to reliable information that al-Qaeda in Syria and Yemen have developed explosive devices that can evade airport security checks.

As TSA explained in the press release, if you are unable to turn off your electronic device at the request of security officers, you will not be allowed to board the aircraft, and you may be delayed for additional checks, which could make you miss your flight.
It should be noted that the new measures do not apply at all airports. To date, UK, French and German international airports have confirmed that they will implement them. To see if they come to Eleftherios Venizelos.
