Windows 10 will soon become number one operating system around the world, according to Microsoft, which says its new system is poised to become the most successful version of Windows ever.
The free offer upgrades to users with Windows 7 and 8,1 and Microsoft's aggressive policy certainly played a decisive role in the rapid adoption of Windows 10 by the public.
Microsoft revealed yesterday that the new operating system runs on 350 million devices around the world and that Windows 10 has so far scored the best customer satisfaction rating.
Of course, the company counts customer satisfaction from those who have already installed the operating system. But what about all those trying to block the upgrade from Windows 7 and 8.1?
“I'd like to say a special thank you to each and every one of you who has upgraded to Windows 10. Over 350 million devices running Windows 10, and customer satisfaction is greater than any previous version of Windows. Our customer loyalty is also incredible with more than 135 billion hours of use on Windows 10 since launch,” said Yusuf Mehdi, Corporate Vice President, Windows.
"We are pleased that so many of you are more productive and more fun with Windows 10. Your feedback is a key element in designing the Anniversary Update."
According data of third parties, Windows 10 is the second most used operating system in the world, with a market share that is getting closer to 20 percent.
Windows 7 continues to hold the top spot with about 50 percent of market share.
Let's remind you that Microsoft's goal is to bring Windows 10 to 1 billion devices up to 2017. The company's goal looks very ambitious, as there are so many companies that do not dare to go into a new operating system.
Moreover, 50% of the market share still holding Windows 7, although the offer of free upgrade expires on July 29 means something.
