The team developed YouTube Go from the ground up trying to provide users with easy video streaming and a interface which makes it very easy to navigate.
It can work with low or no connectivity, probably by incorporating the smart link feature that allows users to schedule a video to be saved offline later. The application is expected to be more cost effective and reduce data usage.
Another feature will allow users to share videos with friends without using data. This means that users will be able to send and receive videos even when they are offline.
YouTube announced that the application will be released in the coming months in order to improve its features based on user feedback. They will be widely available early next year and people can register to receive a notification when their distribution begins.
