If you use the free service no-ip for dynamic ips, either for your computer or your server, check your connection because several subdomains do not work from yesterday.
The well-known service that has a history of 14 years on the internet does why in her blog that the Microsoft following an American federal court ruling closed 22 from its most known domains noip on the grounds that some of their sundomains are used by malware creators.
Informing the no-ip service through its website noip.com gives you free the ability to connect your router with it and assign a subdomain to your ip. In a nutshell, those who have dynamicc ip, ip that changes number continuously, you can call it from afar using domains of type iguru.redirectme.com or piasemia.servebeer.com
The 22 domains are down yesterday, June 30, and you do not know what will happen. In their blog post, they report: “We contacted Microsoft today. They claim that their only intention is to filter out the known bad hostnames in each confiscated domain, while continuing to allow the good hostnames to work. However, this is not the case. Obviously, Microsoft's infrastructure is not able to handle the billions of queries from our customers. "Millions of innocent users are experiencing downtime as a result of Microsoft trying to recover hostnames associated with some bad agents."
It is a pity though that no-ip is one of the remaining free services, especially now that another great similar service, dyndns is now asking for money.
