Three years after the launch of its social network, Google changes its policy and allows Google+ members to appear with a pseudonym.
"We created a community of real people, yet we denounce all those who wanted to participate without revealing their true identity," it says in the relevant post on Gogle +
Gradually, as Google+ grew, Google gave administrators of pages on its social network the ability to freely choose the name of their page and users of the previous YouTube to use their username on Google+ as well. The last step, the announcement, is to allow the free choice of a profile name for each G + member.
Google appears to have acknowledged that the requirement to participate in real names was controversial online, that its policy was unclear even that it caused unnecessary unpleasantries experiences to some of the members.
More ccreating or changing a profile name on Google+ is published on the service support pages, it does not appear to have updated its content to reflect the free choice of Google+ name.
