Microsoft is gradually releasing new icons for Windows 10 applications and is apparently preparing another important update. This time in Notepad, or our well-known Notebook.
Notebook is another application that comes with a new icon and the version distributed through Microsoft Store gives us a first look at its design.
Despite being a very simple application, Notepad is and has been a very popular tool, not only for Windows 10, but also in all previous versions of Microsoft's operating system. This is because it can be used for so many things, from jotting down short notes to codification.
Microsoft has reportedly added several improvements to Notepad in the latest Windows 10 feature updates, such as expanding its lines, in search and more. Apparently the company plans to continue this approach.
For this reason, Notepad appears in the Microsoft Store although it is also available as a pre-loaded application in Windows 10. Microsoft uses this distribution model to provide more updates regardless of when Windows is updated. Notebook was first released in the Microsoft Store with Windows 10 build 18963 in the middle of 2019.
“Notepad has been a much-loved text editor on Windows for over 30 years. Over the course of recent releases, we've made several minor improvements to Notepad with base your feedback,” Microsoft said at the time.
"Starting with this build, we made a change so that future Notepad updates are automatically available through the Store. This will allow us to respond flexibly to problems and updates beyond the limits set by Windows versions. ”
