The notorious Diabl0 (Farid Essebar) hacker was arrested for bank theft 4 billion dollars

farid_essebarΟ Farid Essebar, a 27-year-old from Morocco with Russian citizenship known to scene, under the pseudonym Diabl0. arrested by the Thai authorities as suspected of involvement in cyber attacks in Swiss banks.

According to Bangkok Post, Essebar was arrested when Swiss authorities contacted their embassy in Bangkok and reported his actions as well as three other members of a gang operating from Thailand.

Essebar is accused of in systems of the various banks, and that it has caused damages estimated at around 4 billion dollars.

The Thai police had tracked down Diabl0 here and years, but apparently, they wanted to make sure that the Swiss authorities wanted him before they arrested him. Essebar is said to have visited Thailand, Hong Kong and other neighboring countries several times in recent years.

The Police Chief Songsak Raksaksakul, head of International Affairs and International Criminal Investigation Department, said Essebar never played gambling or acquired any assets in Thailand but only visited tourist destinations.

Diabl0 was first arrested by 2005 from the Moroccan authorities. He was accused and convicted of participating in the creation of Zotob, a notorious worm which have infected many computers, large corporations such as CNN, ABC News, NYT, Boeing, and the US Department of Homeland Security.

He was sentenced to two years' imprisonment, but was released when he first built his sentence.
