Microsoft is officially discontinuing its support Office 2007 next week, so those still using the app better start thinking about an upgrade or switching to another suite.
Without support, Office 2007 will no longer receive technical support for issues που μπορεί να παρουσιαστούν, διορθώσεις σφαλμάτων και διορθώσεις σε κενά security discovered, says Microsoft in a consulting page it published hoping for upgrades.
Additionally, the company explains that from October 31, Outlook 2007 will no longer be able to connect to the inbox of Office 365, so sending and receiving emails will not be possible from that date onwards.
“Office 2007, like almost all Microsoft products, has a support lifecycle where we provide new features, bug fixes, security fixes and more. This life cycle usually lasts 10 years from the date of the original release of the product and the end of this life cycle is known as the End of Life product ”, explains Microsoft.
The company continues to advise its customers who are still running Office 2007 to upgrade to Office 365 ProPlus, Office 2016 or almost any other version of the productivity suite is still receiving updates.
Office 2013, for example, will still receive updates, but Microsoft advises users to switch to the latest version of the suite because it guarantees the most support. And obviously, Redmond says Office 365 is the best choice because it is offered as a service that always runs the latest releases without having to worry about the support fee.
“Unlike Office 2007, Office 365 ProPlus is a service-based that allows users to have access to Office experiences on up to 5 PCs or Macs and their mobile devices. Because Office 365 ProPlus is delivered as a service, there are differences in how it is deployed, licensed, and activated,” Microsoft says.
