New OpenMandriva Lx: OpenMandriva distribution is a fully-equipped Linux desktop operating system and server, funded by the OpenMandriva Association. It is based on ROSA, a Linux Linux distribution project built on Mandriva Linux, 2012.
The distribution incorporates many of Mandriva's original tools and utilities and adding improvements to home use. The goal of OpenMandriva is to create, improve, promote and distribute quality free open source software.
The OpenMandriva project has announced the availability of a new versionof development. The new version of OpenMandriva Lx 3.0 is beta 2, which "wears" Linux kernel 4.6.2, and uses systemd 230.
According to developers it is probably the only Linux distribution that uses packages built with the Clang compiler.
“This second beta has focused on improving stability and performance and is updated with LLVM/Clang. Combined with the high level optimizations used in both the code and the link (allows LTO) in this build, makes the surface work of OpenMandriva ideal for the KDE Plasma 5 desktop.”
More details can be found in the announcement of the new build along with the release notes.
