The distribution incorporates many of Mandriva's original tools and utilities and adds improvements for home use. OpenMandriva's goal is to create, improve, promote and distribute quality free and open source software code.
The OpenMandriva project has announced the release of a new development release. The new version of OpenMandriva Lx 3.0 is beta 2, which "wears" Linux kernel 4.6.2, and uses the systemd 230.
According to developers it is probably the only Linux distribution that uses packages built with the Clang compiler.
"This second beta is focused on improving stability and performance and is updated with LLVM / Clang. Combined with the high level of optimization used in both code and connection (LTO enabled) in this build, it makes the OpenMandriva desktop ideal for the KDE Plasma 5 desktop. ”
