The Openwifi.gr is an action of it Free Software Company / Open Source Software (VET / LAC), for open wireless access in broadband networks utilizing tools and open source platforms and technology Open Mesh.
Through this action the VET / LAC in collaboration with the participating institutions and volunteers aims at to improve free wireless internet access in squares, pedestrian zones, and in public places, such as a beach or any other area that lends itself to creating a local wirelessaccess point (wifi hot spot). The basic conditions for the selection of proposals were the existence of volunteers who undertake to establish, operate and promote its use Open wifi hot spot as well as the availability of a permanent Internet connection.
