Ophcrack LiveCD is completely automated, so it will be quite easy for you even if you have absolutely no experience with Linux.

After downloading Ophcrack ISO, you should choose to pass Ophcrack to a disc (DVD), or to a USB.

Create one bootable DVD ή USB and you are ready to get started. If you use the Universal-USB-Installer to transfer the LiveCD to USB, do not forget to select "Ophcrack" from the list of operating systems and tools contained in the application.

Some programs antivirus give false alarms for one or two of the two files included in Ophcrack that identify them as Trojans or other malware. samdump.dll and pwservice.exe. Both of these files are part of an open program code called pwdump which is included with Ophcrack and is necessary for it to work.

The program pwdump ranks more among the "bad" programs since it can be used to recover passwords.
