The OSVDB vulnerability database closes after 12 operating years

OSVDB (Open Sourced Vulnerability ) or else code database of vulnerabilities, a website that archived the software spots, decided to shut down after 12 years of operation and a collection of over 100.000 vulnerabilities.

OSVDB

The announcement was made yesterday, and the database immediately stopped working. All the are redirected to the site's blog. In their brief statement, the administrators of the site point out that the website will not be restored.

Brian Martin, managing director OSVDB, said it was not an easy decision, as they have struggled for over ten years at a personal cost to always have it online.

The Open Sourced Vulnerability Database blog will remain open and will continue to provide thoughts and opinions on security-related issues, particularly software vulnerabilities.

The Open Sourced Vulnerability Database was started in 2004 by Open Foundation, a non-profit organization founded the following year.

Its goal was to provide free estimates of software vulnerabilities, regardless of their source and manufacturer.
