Ο Nicholas Papachristou is a Ph.D college student at the Department of Applied Informatics, University of Macedonia, under the supervision of Assistant Professor Yiannis Refanidis.
As part of his MSc and PhD, he has developed this Palamedes, a program that plays back at expert level backgammon with variations such as Doors, Leaves, Plakoto, Narde and others. Palamidis won the gold medal at the last Backgammon Computer Games Olympiad.
His research interests are: Artificial Intelligence, AI game, Mechanical Learning, Reinforcement Learning, Neural Networks, and Game Playing in general.
His two projects (Palamedes and AnyGammon) are available online for all.
