The new function Physical Google Web allows phones to connect to devices around them, such as bus stops or parking meters, and get information instantly without using another app.
The feature has been tested on iOS devices since last summer and now Google has released the new feature for Android users as well.
It first rolled out through Chrome 49, which is still in beta, but Google says it's coming soon available to the general public.
How does it work;
When you approach a point (or beacon as the company wants) for the first time, you will receive a notification with the option to enable the "Physical Web", as Google calls it. If you select the feature activation, you will automatically start receiving information from points of interest that will be encountered in the future.
These points can be anything, it's a similar idea with the use of QR codes in tourist areas that give people directions and historical events. The new feature, however, eliminates the need for searching or scanning.
It's not just for outdoor use, which makes it very useful for events such as conferences or just large buildings such as shopping centers and universities.
Google said that this year it had more than 1.500 points of interest or beacons at the CES helping people navigate the exhibition.
