Pidgin is a program conversations that allows you to log in to your accounts on multiple chat networks at the same time. This means you can chat with friends on XMPP and watch an IRC channel at the same time, or talks on Facebook Messanger.

Pidgin is compatible with the following chat networks: Jabber / XMPP, Bonjour, Gadu-Gadu, IRC, Novell GroupWise Messenger, Lotus Sametime, SILC, SIMPLE and Zephyr. It can support many more networks with addons.
Basically the app can connect you to any network conversations that exist as long as you add the suitable addon (plugin).
The Pidgin app is in constant development. Releases are usually frequent and come from user contributions such as bug reports and updates to the code.
Pidgin is free and has no ads. All of our code is open source and available under the GNU General Public License. This means that you can download the Pidgin code and modify it according to your needs, as long as you publish the changes you made to benefit everyone.
