Pidgin is one program chat that allows you to connect to your accounts on multiple chat networks at the same time. This means you can chat with friends on XMPP and simultaneously monitor an IRC channel, or chats on Facebook Messanger.

Pidgin is compatible with the following chat networks: Jabber / XMPP, Bonjour, Gadu-Gadu, IRC, Novell GroupWise Messenger, Lotus Sametime, SILC, SIMPLE and Zephyr. It can support many more networks with addons.
Virtually the app can connect you to any existing chat network as long as you add it suitable addon (plugin).
The Pidgin application is constantly evolving. Releases are usually frequent and come from user contributions such as bug reports and patches.
Pidgin is free and has no ads. All our code is open source and available with GNU General Public License. This means that you can download the Pidgin app code and modify it according to your needs, as long as you publish your changes for everyone to benefit from.
