Over the past week, the streaming service for Movies popcorn Time it slowly began to decompose.
The growing pressure from legal and ethical issues has led to the departure of the core segment of the development team.
So like we mentioned yesterday the creators in their attempt to change their identity in the brand name Popcorn Time, and give it a more legitimate development have developed the "piracy-free" Butter.
But let's look at the last moments of Popcorn Time.
The Popcorn Time website running under domain popcorntime.io has gone into the history. According to TorrentFreak, the developer of Popcorn Time, Wally said:

Τις τελευταίες μέρες κάποιος έχει μετριάσει τις υποδομές μας, κυρίως την DNS υπηρεσία μας και δεν μπορούμε να πείσουμε τον παροχό μας https://gandi.net ότι είμαστε εμείς και ότι θέλουμε να παραμείνουμε online. (Δεν μπορούν να μεταφέρουν το domain name στην κυριότητά τους με λίγα λόγια) Κάνουμε το καλύτερό μας για τη διατήρηση της υπηρεσίας, αλλά σήμερα δεν μπορούμε να δώσουμε κάποιο χρονοδιάγραμμα για το ότι τα πράγματα θα πάνε καλύτερα. Παρακαλούμε περιμένετε, δουλεύουμε μέρα και νύχτα για να διευθετήσουμε το θέμα."
Of course there are still the clones of the service, but that does not mean that it is the same service.
Βέβαια όπως αναφέραμε χθες, υπάρχουν και άλλα problems: η δημοφιλής ιστοσελίδα YTS που τροφοδοτούσε το Popcorn Time (παλαιότερα γνωστή ως YIFY) συνέχιζει να λειτουργεί με διακοπές.

Meanwhile, the new Butter service is only available on GitHub, and maybe sometime we see it online when the dust is settled.
In any case, it's safe to say that Popcorn Time is definitely offline, and that it was fun as it lasted.
